Saw this model at the 2009 annual model train show.Very very nice.

I have two of these and they are just awesome. Great performance and great detail. I just wish I had sound…but…maybe I will one day…

Had 4 of these, could not get any to run more than 10ft. gears jumping off shafts, sent back to bachman and told them to keep them, got 2-4-4T Forneys, work fine!!

I own three of these locomotives, and all three suffered from the split line shaft gears. I recommend installing the NWSL replacements, as they improve the running characteristics even if the gears are not split. These models also make a great starting point for alterations and kit bashing. A couple different kits are available to modify the cab or the entire superstructure.

I have also had gear issues with my two Bachmann HO shays and my On30 climax. Unfortunately there are no replacement parts for the climax. Bachmann really, really needs to fix these issues with their geared locos. My understanding is that every HO and On30 loco they’ve released has had gear splitting problems.

Didn’t know about the gear problem and purchased one while on holiday saw it run in the shop seemed ok but when i ran it at home gears packed up returning it to shop for refund. Can’t recommend this loco to anyone.
