Bachmann On30 2-6-0 diagram

I would like to know where I can g t a copy of a Bachmann On30 2-6-0 diagram. I want to install decoders in 3 of em but can’t figure out how to get them apart… Thanks in advance for any info. Also does anyone know how to access Harold Minkys old website on how to do this? BILL

At the Bmann website here

Harold opens and closes his website so much I gave up trying, but if you still have the url paste into wayback machine and possibly you can find what you need. The Wayback Machine is a archive of websites.

Harold’s new site. [:)]

It will go away in maybe six months and he will come back with something new. Believe it.

For me, it says closed but shows what he will be doing and he says it is not about model railroading. At least with my Firefox browser, he shows what the site will be about with a few photos.

The wayback machine shows nothing about Harold’s URL’s.

Yeah, looks like he’s going back to the “V” scale thing again.

I dont have a copy of the diagram at hand but Having take the Two 2-6-0s I have apart I will try to describe it. There are two tabs that have to be moved to release the boiler and cab. One is at the rear , Carefully slide small flat screwdriver between the rear of the cab and the frame, you will see or feel the locking tab. A second screwdriver will push it and release the cab. I had to use more force than I wanted to to lift the rear of the engine up. It will move a bit, work it slowly up then check the front of the boiler and frame for the second tab,Use a screwdriver to release it and slowly work the boiler and cab up. I worked one at a time back and forth front to back until it came loose. BE CAREFULL the front tab breaks easy.

Take your time and it will come off, they are a tight fit.

Dave

No problem

All locomotives diagrams for all scales are posted there

Thanks guys, I know what you mean about Harolds coming and going. Don’t we all. I am going to try these sites and the tips about getting the boiler and cab off. I have three of these to do so the first one will wind up being a repar job too. The price you have to pay when you get a good deal. BILL

David G Smiths description of removing the shell from these locomotives is exactly right. Only thing is The front tab is REALLY tight. I 'bout wore all the detail off that loco getting the shell off. Had to grind some grooves in theinterior weight to route the wires back. Havr to say that these are pretty smooth running units tough, and fairly cheap too. Thanks Dave. BILL
