Bachmann sends me a drive shaft - gratis!!

I would just like to thank Bachmann Industries for their help.
Before posting a msg here about the drive shaft I had requested a price for the replacement part via the Bachmann website.

Imagine my surprise when I opened the mailbox today and there was a package from Philadelphia with a replacement shaft.

This is not the first act of positive customer service I had experienced. I had prev requested an exploded diagram of an 060 loco so I could put it back together. I bought it on eBay in pieces. I received that in the mail a couple of weeks later as well!

Well done Bachmann. Thanks Again

Its nice when a company goes above and beyond to care for the customer.[:)]
I had a similar experience with Woodland Scenics. I had bought dry transfer decals at LHS, and they would not transfer right. Called the LHS and they told me it was imposible for dry transfers to ge bad. Emailed WS, and they said dry transfers do have a shelf life, and mailed me replacements free!

I’ve also had positive customer service from Bachman. I bought a spectrum baby-trainmaster about ten years ago at a Greenberg Train Show. When I got home to run the engine I found the gear on the front axle broken. Wrote to Bachman and requested price for replacement and received two axles in the mail in about a week.

I too had GREAT service from them on two Spectrum steamers. I couldn’t have asked for anything more.

I know what you mean! I dropped [:0] an 8-40c and wiped out the front truck, called Bachman, and they sent me 2 complete trucks with driveshafts!! NICE!![:D]

I’ve had nothing but great service from Bachmann. Their customer service reps could have a little more personality, and it sometimes takes a while for a repair or replacement (they say 4-6 weeks) but other than those two really trivial things, they are great.

Bachmann’s customer service is excellent, this is pretty-much a well known fact in our hobby.

I guess for once it’s not a bad thing to get the shaft. [(-D][(-D][(-D]

I too have had exellent service from Bachmann. They only time they couldn’t help me out is when I purchased one of their Diesel Locomotives shops that was sold in their Plus line. WHen I opened the box there was no instruction sheet. When I called to obtain one, I was informed that Since they no longer have anything to do with the Bachmann Plus line I could not obtain an instruction sheet from them. Aside from that they have been Awesome.

I guess while Im on the topic. Anyone have an instruction sheet for a Bachmann Diesel Maintenance Facility.

James

I’ve gotten good service from Bachmann, too.[:D] I bought an old HO 8-40CW off eBay, and found that it was missing some detail parts. So I contacted Bachmann through their website, and a couple days later, got a box full of details for an 8-40CW.[:D]

I have had good in the past, however I am feeling a little bit stung right now. I e- mailed them to find out about coupler covers and couplers for an f-9 that the tabs had broken off on the covers (did this twice) They e-mailed me and had already sent out the things with a billing slip for $7.00. ouch-for that I could have requiped with Micro trains twice. I wish I would have known how much it was going to be-I think when it gets here I’m going to refuse it.

Is that F-9 in HO or N scale.

If its in HO and has the same frame currently in use on the FT. Kadees “Bachmann Plus Coupler Conversion kit” works a charm.

James

I’m pretty sure it’s N. If you look at Jim’s post, you’ll notice he mentioned Micro-Trains.

Its in N-
