Bachmann Shay Noise?

I just purchase a Bachmann HO 3 truck Shay.

Runs Smooth, but it has a motor/gear noise to it,

unlike my traditional Bachmann Mikado 2-8-2 which is a really quite loco.

Is the motor/gear noise normal for these Shays?

Gear noise is normal and prototypic for ANY Shay-real or model. The slight motor noise that is present in mine I don’t find objectionable, personally.

Right, it’s not annoying noisy, and it’s a great model.

I was just wondered if it was normal for shays.
