Bachmann Silver Series 100 ton Hoppers

Hi guys,
I used to be on here way back when… like two years ago… anyways managed to loose all my account info so i just remade a new one. Anyways…

I was recently looking into a six pack of bachmann Silver series 100 Ton hoppers on ebay. But I’ve never actualy seen bachmann’s version of them. Do any of you guys have any, and could you tell me how they are? I’d like to know how they compare to other hoppers… perhaps like Athearn blue box’s or something. I have some athearns, atlas’ and a life-like P1K hopper and am courious where bachmans are in comparison to these. The P1K 100 ton is kinda chunky on the detail but for what i paid its fine.

Any thoughts or comments would be greatly apprecated.
Thanks,
~matt

I have 22 of them, nice weight, great wheels, ok couplers, detail is ok, removeable coal.

I’d give them 8 icecreams out of ten!!

Ken.

I have a few on my layout for my grandson to run with. Seem to be “good enough” for me. One of my LHS sells a ton of these. I wi***hey would expand into other brands, they are mostly “G” Scale.

I replace my couplers with either removed McHenry’s or if I have spares Kadee Couplers.

In “my” opinion they are slightly better than the P1K hoppers.
