Bachmann Spectrum "Baldwin 4-6-0, please advise, best sound decoder that fits

Hi guys

My wife really wanted to make me happy since I just started in the hobby. She gave me a Bachmann Spectrum “Baldwin 4-6-0 Loco” I told the LHS that she would be coming in, and to steer her to DCC with sound, but things did’nt go as planned.
So I will be doing my first decoder installation–I hope–. Can anyone give me advice as to which decoder might fit. Hopefully someone out their did this installation.

You’re probably going to be limited to only a SoundTraxx LC decoder or an MRC. Personally, I would never consider an MRC decoder of any type because the ones I have had experience with are worthless.

Check Tony’s Train Exchange, Loy’s Toys, or Litchfield Station for SoundTraxx LC decoders. And don’t forget to purchase a 1" round or oval speaker, because they do not come with the decoder.

I just spoke to Tony’s and he quoted $170 to put a Tsunami in my high boiler Bachmann 4-6-0.

i’m not sure of the sixe of the soundtraxx LC , but the MRC is about a 1/4" longer than the Tsunami
