Yeah have two cleaning track cars. Just wet the bottom (not too wet) do not full up tank it make mess. I do not know where mine come from. They were my father and father in law’s.
To spin on the track cleaning topic, has anyone tried the Steam-car from Rapido trains? They claim it would clean the track as the smoke is released under the car. Any good results? I think it would be way cooler to use one of those rather than a regular track cleaner.
Easy trick- Hand clean[wipe] small section of track, place cleaning car then engine and PUSH the car around your layout with the loco.

Bachmann identifies this car as “New”. How long has it been available?
Still would like further opinions on the car.
probably the same as the lifelike and ihc cars that have been around for ages - even longer than ME!! Polishing seems to be the preferred treatment for the forum members, but I like the Walthers box car that has a Brite Boy type pad underneath. My [2c]
Received the following reply from Bachmann this AM re the new Bachmann track cleaning car:
This car became available about late October/early November, 2009.
You are correct, no liquid agent is placed in the tank of the car.
