Bachmann vhs other mfg please dont turn it into a war!

this is not I am right or you are right we can all de be neighbors!
this is just my opinion
i am very happy for you Bachmann fans. that’s what’s great about this hobby.
you have a choice you have so many more then we had 15 yrs ago
I remember when Bachmann first broke into ls every body was excited it was cheap every one was kit bashing it nobody wanted to kit bash LGB way to expensive. for the price of one LGB you could buy 4 Bachmann starter kits.
then after they ran a while they would stop the axle shaft wore up through the case and gear was to far away from the motor gear to in gauge that’s when you used other mfg motor blocks to rework them to run. I really believe you get what you pay for well I all ways heard do this that or the other to fix it. so that’s why I buy what I buy and it keeps running and running like the energizer bunny.
note
please don’t push your “Bachmann” on me enjoy yours and i will enjoy mine
enjoy your “Bachmann” happy RR

This means war!

The manufacturers are locked in deadly competition to produce nicer and nicer products for us. Yea!

torby
you mignt be right usat is bulding there US MILITARY SERIES a jump start.

USA trains is prepairing for war, just look at there fleet

USA is warring with anyone , its Accucraft, look at the new line of mucho $$$ die-cast locos.

I see no war between USA and Bachmann, unless USA is planning a line of narrow gauge items, which given Bachmann’s reluctance to model Colorado prototypes, USA could literaly make a killing producing a plastic C-16 or a K-series loco.

However as i said, they seam to be clearly after Accu’s nitche of high end , high price models.

As for Bachmann, yeah there early stuff is not worth much more than kitbash parts, I’m planning on scrapping a stopped running Big Hauler on my shelf for parts, but their newest stuff is really good quality.

Its really not fair to compare the older stuff to what they have produced in the last 5 years. yes, they’ve still had their problems but they do seam concerned to improve each generation.

“…please don’t push your “Bachmann” on me enjoy yours and i will enjoy mine
enjoy your “Bachmann” happy RR…”

I wouldnt try to sell you on Bachmann unless you suddenly had an urge for narrow gauge, as thats all they do. Your a confirmed standard guage guy from what I can see so b’mann doesnt have anything to offer , stick to USA and A/C for that stuff.
Later Vic

Hi guys,
When I posted the topic on Bachmann I wasn’t ‘having a do’ at anyone, just telling you what I thought. If it’s any consolation I bought the mining set today, nearly £50-00 and it’s a load of crap. It would have been just about worth it if they included the figures and drums/crates etc shown on the box lid. Still, it will probably be the start of something bigger and scratch built!!
Cheers,
Kim
