Having just purchased a Heisler, it appears that Dave has hit all the important focus points for this model. I have already broken a cylinder cock and re-glued it, bent the chuff contacts to help smooth the central crank shaft action, and lubricated the engine completely. Apparently Bachmann has modified recent versions of this engine since Dave’s review as there is now a potentially problematic circuit board (for electrical noise suppression) mounted in the motor block covers. The fragile wires to this board make removing and re-attaching the cover more complex and tedious than would be without it.
