Bachmanns DCC decoder help

can anyone tell me what the forward voltage is on the light feed wires ( the wires from the decoder that you would plug lights to ) on Bachmanns E-Z DCC decoder.

thanks

Sean W.

Sean, I am fairly sure that the decoder will be a Lenz LE1000W decoder. Lenz was providing this value line decoder to Bachmann for the DCC equipped locos. If it is then it is 16V. There is a PDF of the instructions for this decoder at http://mvns.railfan.net/dcc/le1000.pdf

Thank you so much Simon, i have posted this question on at least 4 different fourms, and you are the first person to give me a concrete answer, thank you. can anyone confirm if bachmanns decoder is Lenz’s LE1000W decoder?

Sean W.

Sean,
Simon is right. The Bachmann value line decoder is a Lenz LE1000W with a plug(in most cases). I have used the Lenz decoder in a few locos that don’t get much running time. My grandson’s N&W 4-8-4 #611 came from Bachmann DCC equipped. I replaced it with a Soundtraxx DSD100LC and a speaker.
If you are having trouble programing the Lenz/Bachmann decoder, try putting a 1/4 watt, 1000 ohm resister across the programming track. This little trick solved my programming problems with Lenz decoders and my Digitrax Zephyr.
Good luck.
