Why do you need some teck to determen speed i have a formula to determin it: S=d/t
I just put my train on a stopwatch over 30 inches of straight track then divide the time into 30 and multiply the result by 9.
I have been trying to speed match locomotives for years in the old manual trial and error fashion. If this device works as advertised I expect to be doing it in minutes vice hours, in some cases.
