Been lurking here a while and thought I’d come out and say hi. I lost interest in model railroading when I graduated from high school. Had my mind on too many other things, jobs, women, etc. Then I got involved in the local astronomy club, which I’m still heavily involved with. Astronomy has always been my other passion. Lately the urge to go back into model railroading has been tugging at me. At first I just kind of ignored it. But it wouldn’t go away. Then I started thinking model railroading would be good to do during the winter when it’s hard to get the scopes out. So… I’m slowly easing back in after 20 years. I did HO before, but am going with N now. N scale seems to have come a long way since I’ve been gone. I’ll be modeling Burlington Northern’s ex-NP Genesee Branch in the Palouse. Growing up around all the grain branches here in eastern Washington, I always thought one would make an interesting modeling project. Anyway, that’s it for now. This looks like a great bunch of folks here.
WELCOME BACK ERIC!!! I think I speak for all of us when I say Welcome Aboard. Their have been MAJOR advances in model railroading in the last 10 years and I’m sure there is more to come. There is a lot of good people here that will help you along and answer any questions you might have - and after 20 years I’m sure you will have a few. Hope to see you around. Shawn
