Back Alley and Wharf RR

Hi all

Can any one tell me the year and month that the BA&W was in the Model Railroader Mag.

I believe it was an add on to the Jerome and South Western? project layout.

regards John

I believe that construction article appeared in the February 1983 issue of Model Railroader. It was an extension of the Jerome & Southwestern layout built by John Olson. The series of construction articles was later compiled in a Kalmbach book, which I am assuming is out of print by now.

Hope this helps.

Sometimes you can find out of print books on either Amazon.com or bn.com (Barnes & Noble)

Hi dexterdog

Thanks now I know which box of mags to go for to try and find it in.

There is no way I could have started at 1973 and worked through to 2012

I just hope its not one of the holes in some of the years.

I don’t supose you know of a good online magazine index for this kind of question.

regards John

Hi BobL609

Might have to see if I can find a copy of the book I rather liked the J&SW RR track plan

regards John

You might want to check out a blog on a layout based on the J&SW http://www.amrline.com/showthread.php/17547-Weebaldy-s-First-Layout-Project/page2

Like the Magazine index on this site?

Hi gentlemen,

i had to know the Back Alley & Wharf was an extension of the Jerome and Southwestern. As “usual however” (watch the typo) I started to search the Jerome & South Western and found nothing.

After two misses the needed information was found, life ain’t easy always
