Back at the PT rehab center

Well guys I’m back in the rehab facility. The visiting nurse came by my house yesterday and didn’t like what she saw as regards my abilities in the bathroom. My house needs some modifications made and my return to managed care will give me time to have a contractor modify my house without me being there. There is more to the story but I don’t feel like typing that much. I didn’t get much modeling done but it was great being home even if only for a few days.

Abilities in the Bathroom? That’s more than we need to know. Poor Nurse. [:D]

Hope you can get back soon. Did you at least sneak a couple of kits in your backpack to bring to the rehab center?

OK, I’ll explain. Transferring to my wheelchair from the toilet I lost my grip on the rail and almost fell to the floor. It was the same arm I broke in the accident. And since I live alone they felt I needed a couple more weeks of supervised care.

Bob,

I’m sorry to read that you’re going through these tough struggles and pray for a good recovery. Do you have relatives that live near you that come by to check on you and keep an eye on your home?

Bob, you’re in my prayers. I know what you’re going through, having suffered a spinal cord injury a few years back. All of my family lives out west, and I live in Missouri. Maybe a model railroader that lives near by can give you an assist.

You should make out OK with the proper modifications to your home. I manage well enough with mine. It’s been many years since I’ve warmed the seat of a wheelchair but I still have to use crutches on my bad days and I require the use of support rails and grips in my home. With some patience and the right modifications you should do well.

Bob -

Get well and return home soon. It’s true that “there’s no place like home.” My recovery times always got better once I was back in my own “world” again. God speed on your recovery.

Bob,I’m real sorry to hear that…

After my stroke in '05 I spent 30 days in a nursing home for extended care and PT…Anyway I came within a angry mule’s kick of becoming a permanent resident because of having limited use of my right hand they was concern I couldn’t/wouldn’t take care of myself due to my past poor health record, smoking and fast food life style…I am now more health conscious…

The very best to you and may you return home quickly…

Bob, it seems we have more in common…the first time I was sent home, I was there 2 1/2 days and I fell again, then it was back to the hospital again. We had to have grab rails put up in the bathroom and a few other places around the house. Hang in there, they’ll get things right for you.

Bob,

I am sorry to hear that you are back at the rehab center. My [angel] for a speedy and foremost, thorough, recovery!
