Does anybody know a good site, to buy a reasonably priced backdrop, for an ) scale layout. I am also wondering how to make the mountians and tunnels. thanks for your help[;)]

Welcome to the forums. I have not tried these myself, but the backdrops at www.sceniking.com seem like good value.
As for foam mountains, I used scrap packing material white bead foam to build the substructure and then used the blueboard construction foam cut into layers for the main structure. You can use caulk or foam compatible liquid nails to glue it together.
Here I have left out my removable section. It shows better the use of the white bead foam underneath. I did not have an unlimited supply of the blue board so only used it as a shell if you like for the surface.
here the liftout is in place.
You can then carve it into shape with a serated knife. some use a hot wire tool (I don’t like the fumes from these)
I then cover with plaster cloth, stick on rock molds and then layer with a lightweight plaster called Gypsolite. Paint, add groundcover, trees etc.
