Back in the hobby...

You may have noticed that I have not been on and posting in a while, and if you haven’t, its true, I took a break from model railroading. I have been dabbling in other scale hobbies, and I am now the proud owner of a scale gas R/C plane and a gas R/C boat that I can’t wait to try out this summer. Now I am back into MRR’ing and am ready to take on the task that drove me away. My layout is based off of the RR’ing work of another gentleman. He lived out our street and died around the time I was born. His layout had been inactive for about 15 years until my father purchased it for me after the death of his wife durning the estate auction. When I stopped posting, I had my actual layout stripped and had got his, my new layout, in 75% running as far as track cleanleness and replacement goes. I had also been working on some wiring and scenery, and yet the progress was almost at a standstill. Now, after my short leave, I am ready to strip and restore the layout. I hope to have pictures posted and up-to-date info on the task, and I am going to put some pics of it as it is now and then have updated pics. Everything is fine on the layout except for the grass and some trees which I am going to repair. The layout is just showing a little age and I am going to attemp to repair it before its too late. Please feel free to post any tips or anything of the sort about what I am getting ready to do.

Thanks, beegle55.

Good for you. That is no small task you are undertaking. I can’t imagine the time one could spend trying to get work out the wiring of an old layout. I wish you well in your endeavor.

Thanks for the comment.
