HELP

Hi Chompers,
I only have one aristo car, the plow, and at one time I had it hooked & looped, must have been aristo’s own though. You should be able to trim the coupler to give it more height over the switches. The wobble is probably nothing more than tightening up the bogie holding screws a bit. Tighten them so they can just turn without derailment and the side to side movement will be less. I seem to recall someone giving advice on this by saying tighten one truck up to limit the side to side pivot and the other truck to limit the front and back pivot. Never had a bobber caboose, can’t help there but sounds like you got lucky with the tank.
Cheers,

If you have any Qs go to Aristo’s web site and e-mail TATE and he will always find a way to help you out. He answers most of the companies e-mails.
I have 80% Aristo cars and love them, I don’t use hook and loop and the bobbers I covered into 4 wheel trucks then later sold them.
Steel wheels do very from company to company.
The bobber is an older model from AC and there has been changes and upgrades over the years.

Arrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhristo has their own hook-and-loops. Often they come in the box (look for a bag taped inside).
They have a differently shaped tang and a coil spring (good for fixing sideframes…same spring).
As far as the wobble, yes, you need to learn about 3-point suspension.
One truck needs to be firm against the rubbing blocks or frame, yet still able to rotate.
The other needs to wobble.
Often a washer on the kingpin will do the trick.

i don’t think i posted my point. the aristo hook and loop couplers are hitting my lgb switches.

Well, Chompers, it was hard to read.
I never did figure out how one was to attack lgb hook and loops to aristo cars…
If the original aristo tang is hanging down too far, inspect the truck itself to see if it is bent allowing the loop to sag.
Is the screw tight?
If not, the coupler assembly sags and catches.
Most work just fine.
So, the tabk car works okay, the bobber is unknown on couplers, but this car won’t.
Both ends of the car or only one end?
Compare couplers and trucks on the tank and the reefer and see what’s different.

I think it’s all a matter of discipline. Give it a spanking[|(]
