Not a good start to 2011…
#1…UPS lost shipment from CMT.
#2…Parts and info missing from IMRC loco kit.
#3…Bachmann reports 8 weeks to repair new, under warranty, Climax. Took 12 days from receipt of item to entry into the repair dept.
Only good thing it’s not snowing in Katy, TX
Count your blessings. I had to take a half-day’s vacation yesterday because I couldn’t get out of my driveway here in the Northeast. So, I mortared a brick wall for a DPM kit until the plow came.
I wish I was in your shoes. We haven’t been getting much snow here in the midwest, but when it does it’s $$$ in my pocket.
Just wait Bill, just wait. There are still several more months of winter left…[:S]

maybe I should not say anything but I just got done with 10 inches of that white stiff, tired of it, and when done i have to take a nap so I can try to do something in the train room. Have a good day all and don’t send any more snow this winter .
slow train Ed
Sounds like a typical week to me. [(-D]
Here’s something that might cheer you up by comparison. I just had my car in the shop Wednesday for what I thought would be an alignment and new tires – ended up costing me $1,100. Car started running rough last night so I took it back in. Estimate for more work is $1,400.
I’m TRYING to save money for a new garage that would include some layout space.
Oh yeah, one more thing. During his State of the Union speech Tuesday, President Obama singled out the area I work in for cuts.
It got lost in some snowbank near Bradford S.D.
Same with my order from MusiciansFriend…
I think it’s time for a new mechinic. Had same problem. seems they where not on the up and up… sorry quote to car problems.JTG
Yep. I think the same thing. I’m always suspicious when I bring my car home from the mechanic … and immediately have another problem.
Whatever you do don’t ask the old question “What else can happen”? I guarantee you will have an answer shortly after.
I took the transmission for my Jeep to a local shop for a repair & they told me it needed to be either completely rebuilt or replaced to the tune of $1400.00. I took it hom & took it apart myself and replaced a little clip that cost me .29 cents. Has worked great ever since.
It will get better, no? Live in Minnesota and you’ll have 64" of snow.
Jimmy, I hate to tell you this … but i DO live in Minnesota!
It took me five hours 28 minutes to drive 5.3 miles home from work the other night, and there was no power when I got home. 2011 can only go up from here.
feh…we got 128" of the dang stuff here…
We have the same thing in northern Michigan. Our new state slogan is," Come to Michigan where we have 11 months of good sledding and one when it’s not so hot".
Ours is getting there…11 months sledding…8 months construction destruction……they use the less snowier times to muck up our roads…
To bad your not a Steeler’s Fan That will cheer you up
