Last night Jim House the enginer that works for CK RR was just in a little bite of a hurry to get home to his Honey. Pulling a 40 car coal train with a F7A. Jim was heading in to the Kings Down tunnel that is 1130 feet long, it has a tight turn at the end but Jim has ran the A line many times. CK RR has posted this last turn max speed at 50 MPH but Jim has taken it many times at 65 and knew the F7 could handel the speed.
What Jim and his new to the CK RR Conducter Ken Linder did not count on was the UP coal hopper had a bad axel bearing. In the center of the turn its boster was glowing red and locked up! Before Jim could back down the engine over it went along with the train. Jim and K Linder are OK, thank God because little People cost a lot![:D] But the F7 and most of the coal cars are totaled lost.
Big hooked got the A line clear and hauling the junk to the scrap yard to be made in to Beer cans and Buick Bumpers. Few PIC.[V]

Hope you enjoyed the little story, but I was wondering what to do with the stuff I would never run again (NO HO PEOPLE WHERE HURT) Well real trains wreck, I have Bulk Head and Flat Bed cars so take it from there!
Plus in the last month or so I strated to wearther my stuff. Will not say I am good yet but getting better. Plus my town is starting to take a crude shape. Most of the kits are DMP so it is a way to show off my town called Kings Do
I have a buddy, John Myers, who operates a crane that puts them, either, back on the track or onto the flat cars. He didn’t happen to be the one who cleaned up that mess was he? [:D]
I will get on the grass later tonight, I hate cutting grass so I got a HO bush hog.
After I get the K-10 Mining Company bench section up and running I will start with the town. Hope to pick up a meat packing plant this Thursday.
Crane was ran by One Arm Pete. Pete lost his left arm in a UP back shop installinng a new tread on a Big Boy drive wheel. When One Arm is not running the hook he is in charge of rail repair crew.
Bored again Cuda Ken
Nice weathering job on the cars Ken!
But when are you going to weather those staples holding your grass mat down?[:)]
Driline, thoses are new staples! Weatherd ones are by the repair shop. Just like a real RR we at CK RR replaces the staples as need.
Thanks for the kind words on the rolling stock, I know I am getting better because my wife does not like them![:D] She said last night ( I use to like watching them because they where pretty to look at, (pointed at the wrecked F 7) that was one of the one I like the best, now it is nasty looking like the other cars)!
All so guess the main reason I have not pulled it a part is because as child like as it is, it works great finaly. Plus I work 60 some hours a week. New section will not have any staples and has road bed as well!
Staple Ken posting again.
Just teasing about the grass. I’ve used single serving Pringles cans to simulate water towers, and right now have several “buildings” made of empty Marlboro packs. A Glad snadwich bag box stood in for a mining headframe for a while, and Cloroseptuic cough drops box acted as the steam house.
Just part of the process.
I notice you dodged the beer question though…

I have an old varney F3, Zamack shell, its in pieces falling apart, Zamack did that.
I bought it for the runningframe which works. I may take the shell and put it at the bottom of a river…or place it at the scrappers… 8-D
