Ballasting with undertable switch machines

When ballasting turnouts with an undertable swith machine (I will be using Walthers) how do you hide the hole created for the wire that comes up through the roadbed?

I’m not as particular on my layout as some are – I use some thick plaster to get the hole as small as possible so that it still works, and then ballast around it. It does leave a small hole, but a foot or two away it’s nearly invisible.

I imagine you could disguise the hole with some weeds or small bushes.

The way I ballast my turnouts is a little different. I cover the bottom with a layer of Duck tape. (Yess that is the trademark name.) I match the color approximately to my ballast. (In my case gray.) Before installing said turnout, cut the tape away from the drawbar and go from there. Doing that has a double benefot: It prevents the turnout from being stuck to the roadbed making it easier to move if there is a maintenance issue and the ballast doesn’t get above the points so there is no risk of gumming them up.
In this case the tape would also cover the hole for the undertable unit.
