Dashed my hopes in that one last paragraph. Would really like to ride the E-line on PCC cars.
The Market Street Railway group is likely the best example of a blended public/private non-profit enterprise. While other cities waste millions for studies prepared by people who barely know what a streetcar is, these guys really have their act together. The streetcars are loved and used by the locals even more than the tourists.
