I’m building my first model railroad, and I’ve started expanding on the Scenic Ridge Track Pack. My question is this: how can I tell the “code” of the track used in this pack so that I can buy some matching flex track?
I think Atlas only makes 2 types of N scale track. The brown ties are code 55, the black ties are bigger I beleive. Just make sure you get the track with the same tie color.
Best method is to measure it. “code” is the hieght of the rail in thousandths of an inch. Thus code 55 rail is .055" tall. A basic caliper is an extremely useful tool to have. I purchased mine from Harbor Freight for less than $20.
