BC Rail passenger service

It appears from the BC Rail web page that passenger service is no longer being offered between Vancouver and Lilleoot on to Prince George. Can anyone confirm that please?

BC RAIL discontinued all passenger services two years ago except for 35 miles that must be operated by government mandate between Lillooet and D’Arcy where no roads exist. My understanding is there is no road access and this is an active indian reservation that has been guaranteed transportation by the Canadian Government and BC Goverment. There is talk of Rocky Mountain Rail tours offering service over this line once the dust settles from the CN takeover. Its truly too bad there is no service this is probably one of the most scenic lines in all of North America. Its just begging for some type of tourist operation hope it happens. Hope this answers your question ndbprr.

‘Passengerfan’ is correct , no passenger service at the moment , the service between Lillooet & D’Arcy is for locals and schoolkids because of poor road access , it is carried out by 2 " home made" speeder type vehicles that hold around 20 people . He is also correct in saying that there is 2 proposals for passenger service , one by Rocky Mountain Railtous would be of a tourist / high end type using the Colorado Railcar DMU , the other by Whistler Railtours for a DMU type service between Vancouver , Whistler & Prince George , no decision has been made as yet - unless you know otherwise.

They have pictures of the speeders on the web site and you can make a reservation for the trip. Now to get to Lilleoot!
