Be the Diesel Engineer Program on the Fillmore & Western Railway

Last weekend I attended Railfest 2005, in Fillmore, California. While there I
took part in the Be the Diesel Locomotive Engineer Program on the Fillmore &
Western Railway. I completed a one hour operating course and obtained
hands-on experience aboard a diesel locomotive. I was a student engineer, on
the Fillmore & Western Railway, running a GP-35 #3502, and a short freight
train, four box cars and a caboose. I would like to see more of the be the Diesel
locomotive engineer programs offered on the Fillmore & Western Railway.
There is a shortage of qualified engineers on the San Diego Railroad Museums train rides from Campo to Tecate Mexico. It would help to qualify as
an railroad engineer.

Good report. Will the Filmore and Western be doing any more of these kind of programs?
