Maybe if Kalmbach put the same kind money and talent into MRR that is has with it beading magazines, MRR would have better readership.

Ouch N&W! I have not seen Kalmbach’s bead magazine. I have seen their Astronomy and Bird magazines. And we geezers remember when Kalmbach had an airline magazine, a ship magazine, and Better Camping. But those failed commercially. Great pictures though.
Well my wife went to a big bead show today in Milwaukee which I think was sponsored by Kalmbach and their bead magazine. These beads are not the cheap trinkets you give away at Mardi Gras for … for …, well for favors received. No! These beads cost as much as Intermountain freight cars. Three beads for $70! She did NOT go to the classes which cost $300 each! No wonder Kalmbach has gone into beads -that is where the money is! The mind reels …

Saw a film clip last night on PBS…of Bob Hope singing “Buttons and Bows” to Jane Russell.
Now I’m wondering if there’s a buttons & bows magazine, too ?
If so…bet the BRASS buttons are what the serious collectors go for, the old Max Grays and PFM’s ?

That clip you saw is from a 1941 Bob Hope/Jane Russel film called “The Paleface”.
