Beginner problem

How do I hook up 2 tracks on my transformer to have my dial controls work? One works fine, the other works FULL BLAST as soon as you turn the knob. The one that works great is hooked to terminal B&C. The one that goes way too crazy fast is hooked to A&F

What scale, and what controller are you using? Need that info first before someone can help.

Has to be O gauge with terminals up to F Identified by letter. But yes, it will help dramatically if he tells us the make and model of the transformer and puts up a picture or two.

I suspect connecting to A and F is giving him some fixed AC voltage, perhaps intended for accessories, that might be 18V or higher. Not all outputs from transformer connections are regulated by knob control!

I was thinking Lionel as well, but I just want to be sure. If it is Lionel, the only controller that I can find that goes up to terminal F is the TW. If it is a TW, terminals A and F is fixed 25 volts. The TW is also a one train only controller, the other handle is for the direction and whistle, but it wouldn’t make sense that the 25V would only work when that handle was moved. Plus, the only TW with terminal B is the 1953 version, ones made after 54’ don’t have a B terminal, I cannot find instructions for this 1953 version to see if B and C are correct either. Then again this is also making assumptions and cannot be confirmed until it is known what controller is being used.

Thanks for helping! I greatly appreciate it !!!

Thank you

Alright, its a Type R. The type R doesnt have F labled, so I didnt see it while looking. Here is a page with instructions. Hook one track to terminals B and F, and the other track to B and C.
