Bench work for modules ?

Ok Guys, I need your expertise.

I am building 2’ X 4’ modules using 1" X 3" frame work with 1/2" plywood on top. My question is, can I get away with just one center brace set at 2’ on center or do I need to go ahead and put in two center braces ? Remember my modules are only 4’ long.

Thanks in advance.

Ron

Ron, having done a few modules i would say that one brace would be enough . especially if you are using 1/2" ply. you could use 1/2" homa and foam, that would make it lighter . what are you using for your legs 2x2?

Im still havent made up my mind on the legs yet, I have a bunch of 2" X 4" laying around but the 2" X 2",s would look better, what ever I go with will be removable so that the whole layout will fit into a rack when I need to use the shop. The plan right now is to put 2" foam on top of the plywood.

Two foot centers is usually the norm for four foot long modules.

Hey Thanks for the Replies.

This means I can get started as soon as I feell better from this cold!!
