bench"WORK"

Now I remember why it is called bench “WORK” it is both in labor and mind.
I have started at the most important point the entrance to the room with the twin bridges. This will set the elevation and grade for everything to follow. The meat of this post is I am going to do 100% of the sub roadbed and road bed with no rails other than locating the turnouts. I am counting on 1:1 plots and Cadd to get everything to match up. The yards and such will be built using the track to locate the exact points. Usiing a 1:1 overlay.
This will either be a very nice design and engineering experience or I will go back to GOLF!![:D]

If that works for you, great. Me personally, I have to switch off and do different things. No matter what it is, after a while I have to set it aside and go do somethign else. Lay some roaded. Put down some track. Solder some feeders, run a train. Lather, rinse, and repeat.

I get it! 20 min after the post I started building the bridge kit.
Your post on the “L” girder makes a lot of sense. I built the entrance area using the box frame and then looked at the drawings for the next section which was to be “L” I went to the Cadd and redesigned using Box and could build the next section with just the wood I was going to use to make the “L”. Good point, thank you.
The old pen plotter is breathing hard spitting out 36" wide by 22 ft long plots. Takes all night to make one run (6 hours) and have 6 runs to make. I forgot how much plot paper costs! Thought I was buying gas for the car!!!
