Berk 736 paint

I was repairing and repainting an old Berk 736 and remembered an article in CTT’s about the same. After some six months of searching my home I found the two part article (second part in the March 1997 Issue). My problem is the paints mentioned in the article do not seem to be made anymore. Does anyone know where to get the paint or a suitable substitution? The paints in question are Accu-flex no. 16-01 Engine Black and Testors Model Master Satin Semi-gloss Clear Lacquer.

I have used rustoleum #1974 satin black spray and #7777 satin black in quarts(sometimes hard to find) with pretty good results. most auto paint stores also sell a flattening agent to adjust the flatness of the paints. Olsens toy trains also sells rubber stamps to re-number your engine. Test the colors to make sure you are happy before spraying.-T.M.
