This weekend is the Rock Island, IL Train Festival. As part of that event they are sponsoring a number of steam excursions. Today’s excursion left Rock Island for Bureau, IL on the Iowa Interstate line. That means it passed directly by the building where I worked, and I managed to get these shots as it went by.
Tomorrow I have tickets on the steam excursion to Iowa City. Will have anb opportunity to get some close up shots.
Beautiful shots of 765! My wife and daughter and I rode the trip to Iowa City also. Was a very good trip and the run bys were awesome.
very nice. I was unable to get to the Train Fest due to problems that came up. I know someone who volunteers at Ft. Wayne RR Historical Society and helps with this engine. So I had particularly wanted to see her.
Sounds like she did a great job and put on a terrific show for everyone. Long live steam.
