Best Forum Photo Of The Year!

So as the year winds down I thought a little contest is in order. With threads like “weekend Photo fun” and “show me something” and other’s, there have been many outstanding photo’s displayed on this forum in the past year. Then there were my photo’s that were banished for life![(-D]

So vote for your favourite photo displayed by a fellow forumite in 2013 by copying and pasting that photo to this thread. The prize for the winner will be the admiration and a pat on the computer monitor from all his or her fellow modelers.

Or maybe Kalmbach can provide a small prize to the winner.

Photo’s can be from other years but they have had to have been posted in 2013

No posting and voting for yourself though I kinda like this one![swg]

“Holy Difficult Choice Batman!!!
Well it looks like a case of a fool [:-^][:P] rushing in where angels fear to tread, as even Batman hasn’t enlightened us with his pick, but here is my favourite. It was my initial pick when I first read the thread and after several hours of mulling it over and thinking “But what about that photo, and I can’t go past that one, or heck!! His photos are great” , and various permutations of those thought patterns, I came back to my original thought.
Courtsey of mikelhh …

To All of you who have posted photos, thank you for the inspiration, enjoyment, and/or, the WOW Factor. [bow][bow]

Cheers, the Bear.

I thought I saw one of your photos the other day, maybe not. You seem to be back on the wrong side of the picture poster again. Are you expecting a load of coal for Christmas? Yours seem to be the only ones effected.

Hope someone gets it corrected soon, you have posted some nice photos in the past.

Good luck,

Richard

Although fairly new to this forum and I hope I don’t offend other members[;)] but this is one of my favorite pics to look at done by Motley…

Nice backdrop and layout Motley

Jerry

Thanks for taking the leap Bear and getting us started. That is an outstanding photo you posted. Richard I think my pic’s are gone forever, but so far the new ones I post are sticking around (fingers crossed). Everytime I see Micheals layout I think he really hit a home run with that backdrop.

Here is my submission. A Doc Wayne pic. First time I saw it I just thought WOW!

As of now, 450 views and only three submissions. [^o)][^o)][?][^o)]

450views and they are all doing the same thing[banghead][banghead][banghead] who do I pick? They are all good![yeah]

Excellent idea. Here is my submission.

Thanks Brent,

Enjoyed a hot toddy and a review of the 2013 forum photos to date last night. Choosing a favorite photo was daunting to say the least, but early this morning had it narrowed down to Doctorwayne, Selector, mikelhh and McFunkeymonkey. Gotta go with McFunkeymonkey, but the deck might be stacked as I live just a handful of miles from the location the photo depicts.

Thanks to all the folks far and near who have taken the time to share their photos and advice. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

regards, Peter

Very tough to choose,as there have been some stunning shots this year. My favorite is a picture from **mikelhh,**but for some reason it won’t copy. Here is another great shot of his from the same thread.

if you go to this thread, the 3rd picture down is my favorite:

This link will show you more of his work:

As I said, great shots by many different members this year.

Mike.

If you highlight the specific photo and hit copy, you can then paste it into this thread. I agree that your choices are excellent and had considered one of those myself.[Y]

If you can’t do it tell me if it is 1, 2, or 3 and I’ll do it.[:)]

Thanks,Brent.I’ve tried that every way I can think of,and it shows up in the post body window, but when I actually hit post,it’s gone. It is picture #3(but the others ain’t too shabby, either).

Thanks again,

Mike

Here’s Mike’s choice (I hope)

Nope! Won’t work as I believe it is from a video. The other two can be copied and pasted, so how about one of those?

Thanks for your efforts,Brent,I appreciate it! I went back and put the first photo in.

Mike

But 2014 isn’t a Leap Bear…

Well, it’s still 2013 so here is my offering.

First, we all know that there are many excellent modlers on the forum who have produced some outstanding results. Picking the best is near impossible.

I picked the following by G Paine not only because it’s very good but because it is the best quarry I’ve seen.

The modler posted a better picture of it earlier in the year but I just saw this one today.

Bob

Thanks Bob, Dana Evert, one of our volunteers at Boothbay Railway Village, spent more than 2 years working on the quarry. His real job is an artist, and it shows in his modeling work. The actual Dragon Products quarry is about 30 miles fron here in Thomaston, ME, so he was able to get details from the real thing.

One last bump for any last minute submissions.

Brent,

I can only guess that the lack of submissions has to do with the time involved in reviewing the photos and the difficulty in choosing a favorite out of so many great photos. Not wanting to think of the WPF and Show me threads as contests may also be a factor. I don’t like thinking of these threads as a contest, but welcomed the opportunity to review all the photos, was enjoyable and can’t say it wasn’t fun picking a favorite.

Each New Year’s eve my wife and I review all the photos we’ve taken during the year. Always fun and though not a contest, we also enjoy picking a favorite.

Thanks and Happy New Year, Peter

I have to agree, as I’ve seen many photos which impressed me, but trying to track them down would take forever - most probably weren’t even in the WPF or Show Me threads.

And Brent, I’m flattered that you find that photo interesting, but nevertheless a little nonplussed, as it was one taken as an experiment with a homemade pinhole lense inserted into my 35mm camera many years ago. [:$] [swg]
