That Trainsounds tender goes for around $70 by its self so that is a Lot of train set for $169
FYI last year Menard’s started the after Christmas toy sale on Christmas Eve.
The question is will our local stores still have any of the sets we want? How ichy is our trigger finger!![swg] Agreed its a nice set at that price though!
I don’t think you can get an MTH protosound set for less than $280-300 ( but I don’t keep up on them).

In my humble, non biased opinion, I think the Lionel 0-8-0 Pennsy Flyer set is the best deal of them all. Sears has them for $199 and mail order houses around $150. The engine is realistically scaled and has all the right chemistry for a steamhead. The cars are nice too and it includes Fastrack. With all the change, you can afford a pair of switches and a couple accessories.
