Best powered signals for the buck...but not DCC

I need a couple of signals for the layout/module. Mainly for aesthetic purposes but they have to be powered. Who makes decent ones that aren’t too pricey and that I can control the color of the light with a switch manually?

Model Power makes nice looking signals and you can control the color by a switch. I got 2 for my layout from firsthobby.com for about 11 bucks each.

If you’re up to building your own then try the Oregon Rail Supply signals. Take your time and test everything as you go. They build out to a nice signal. Easily controled by a switch and lighted by a bi-color led for the single target signal.

I make my own using IHC heads with 1.5 mm LEDs, and styrene tubing.

While those kitbashed signals look great, I’d have to agree that the Model Power signals are hard to beat for the price. There are about six different styles of signals and they all use grain of wheat bulbs so they look a little crude compared to some of the LED signals available. Still, with some more realistic paint and not putting them where they are right in front of your eyeball, they will do for ornamental signals.

Thanks Nick, Jim, and everyone else who chimed in. Help is appreciated! If anyone else has suggestions feel free to let me know. Now that I have some ideas I can start! I will post pics after I get some operating.
