Bias with media reporting on Grade Crossing incidents

Our rules require dumping the EOT if an emergency application is initiated by the engineer. Even if the EOT has been experiencing communication loss, you are to still flip the toggle switch.

Media bias is to show the deepest pockets in a situation in the worst possible light.

Speaking of which, on another You Tube video, they had a little red toggle switch cover over the Emergency Toggle Switch. I have not seen one of those since the military. I was surprised to see those in civilian use.

I guess I am not very electrical control panel literate though…so there is that.

I believe that the computer controlled air brake systems automatically send an emergency signal to the EOT when the automatic air brake lever in the cab is placed in the emergency position.

Heck, they aren’t that uncommon. I think that I’ve even got one forgotten in a junk box somewhere.
