The idea of having bicycles on trains is actually a lot older than some may think!
The Washington Metro allows bikes on trains on weekends. They are restricted to the first and last door of each car, and no more than 4 per car.
Amtrak, the last time I rode, would not let persons with bikes on a train that did not have a baggage car. Of course, you could drag a giant steamer trunk on the train, but not a bike.
Lane Transit District (Eugene OR) has bike racks on the front of all their busses.
BART (San Francisco Bay Area) allows bikes except during rush hours.

Hay. . . … my transit system SEPTA (Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority) allows bikes on all trains. However, this is only on non peak trains, and the regional rail system. This isn’t allowed on The ELs, and Subs. Were I live in Philly we do have many bike systems too. Most of them are right next to trackage, or have been converted from rails to trails. Some of them overlook the rivers, and others are located in our famous Feirmount Park.
