Bill Fuller’s Paha Sapa Lines

A very colorful collection of Hudsons, and Varnish. But I do not believe train wreck songs are appropriate for the top passenger trains of America. Something more along the lines of the “Wabash Canon Ball” would get my vote. Loved the trains, though !

I’m glad that you enjoyed the shots of the trains, Paul. In this particular instance, I was really using the trains as mere “eye candy” while the ear enjoyed the folksy train wreck ballads on which I was actually trying to focus. As for using passenger trains for the video track, I felt it was fairly appropriate since fewer ballads were generated by freight train wrecks, the public’s attention being attracted by the drama of passenger train disasters. However, I did do another video featuring more train wreck songs and using freight train models! Pop over to youtube.com and search on wfuller1907 to find it. Meanwhile, keep 'em rolling!

Very enjoyable. The music was interesting to me since I am a soloist and a chorus singer. The trains included a lot of those I have and have enjoyed in the past.
Someday I will have a layout when we move and have a basement or attic. I can dream, can’t I?

Great video of great trains.

Good music and nice trains.

Very nice! Great trains with terrific scenery. Loved the music.

Even though I model the 1950’s Burlington era in HO, I was very impressed by both the Lionel and the Z-scale videos. I just wish I had kept my American Flyer S-scale stuff when I switched to HO in 1956!

SURE ENJOYED SEEING THOSE CLASSIC MPC SETS & ACCESSORIES (ESPECIALLY THE GOOSENECK LAMPS) & I’M WELL AWARE SOME ARE MODERN. THE COACHES ARE NOT THAT EXPENSIVE BUT THE STEAM ENGINES THAT PULL THEM SURE ARE! I WAS SURPRISED THAT YOU DIDN’T HAVE OR SHOW IN YOUR COLLECTION THE MILWAUKEE SET FROM 1973, THE PENNSYLVANIA SET FROM 1974 & MY FIRST & FAVORITE LIONEL SET FROM 1975, BALTIMORE & OHIO’S CAPITOL (CAPITAL IN ERROR ON THE COACHES) LIMITED. THIS WAS THE LONGEST LIONEL SET TO COMPLETE BECAUSE THE DINING CAR WAS LISTED AS UNCATALOGED WHEN IT WAS RELEASED IN 1989. MOST OF THE MODERN COACHES CURRENTLY AVAILABLE ARE BASED ON THOSE EARLY MPC ISSUES.

That was a very cool video. Great collection of Lionel’s baby Hudson 4-6-4s and their passenger consists. Seeing the Williams pulling the Pennsy’s passenger cars was a special treat. The only thing I missed was the smoke. I own one of the Chicago & Altons, and it smokes like crazy. Thanks.

Notice the flickering lights in the passenger cars? When Lionel MPC/Fundimensions brought Lionel back from its imminent demise and introduced these cars, only a single power pickup roller was used on each one. I’ve since fixed the flicker by installing a thin two-wire cable between each car so that every car gets the benefit of every power pickup roller in the train. Now the lights burn steadily. I used Micro Mini Connectors #50-001 from Miniatronics.com. Except for cars with no end vestibules (baggage and dining), connectors can be installed with no modification to the cars; just run the wiring out the end window opening and under the gate molded onto the vestibule end, and it’ll be held in place by the roof/window glazing piece when that’s pressed back onto the car. On baggage and dining cars, however, it’s necessary to drill a small hole in the floor near each end and run the wiring out through that. Just be careful to keep the polarity straight when splicing the connectors onto the existing light wires inside the cars and when plugging each connector into the next one between cars.

Great suggestion to stop the flickering. Do you have any photos to share?

Great layout for beautiful running trains . Well done another piece of history for lionel.
