Bill Henderson's stories in old MRs

As an O gauger, I usually post over in the Classic Toy Trains forum but I’d like to ask a question here, if I may. I was looking for some interurban plans in the Sept. 01 MR and came across one of Bill Henderson’s stories about his Coal Belt. I know these were controversial among subscribers but I loved them - I sure enjoyed reading it again. Anyone have any news of Bill and his road?

Good question! He certainly contributed many articles to Model Railroader and Railroad Model Craftsman magazine over the years.

Not sure if you are looking for this kind of info, but after running a few querys for the name “Bill Henderson” I came across a few references:

Allen Keller Videos Great Model Railroads, Volume 19 Bill Henderson’s Coal Belt Railroad: http://www.allenkeller.com/GMR19.htm

Model Railroader Keyword search comes up with 29 entries:

Havn’t seen anything recently but I do miss those stories. His articles and Tony Koesters column were the two things I read first. Now go to Tony’s first after a quick flip through.

Ditto for me as well. Not only did I enjoy his stories, but I model the same time and place as Bill does. Its always nice to see a camelback once in a while in MR.
