Has any of the major model makers ever made an operating model of the BL-2 locomotive in O gauge? would really like to know—THX
Mth and Williams. Williams is the more stripped down and cheaper of the two and is currently being made. Google Williams electric trains.

I bought the MTH BL-2 from my LHS, which, sadly, went out of business in Jan. Also, I found on a HS web site, the unpowered (dummy) unit. The dummy has zero lights, but MTH to the rescue - an add-on lighting kit is available to give life to that dummy.
To me, the BL-2 looks similar to the F3s.
I’m not sorry I bought these and so far the powered unit runs and sounds great. Have not had chance to load it down with a good size consist, so can’t offer any advice there.

And if you can’t find them locally, here is a great guy to buy from.
I have the red Rock Island. Looks good and pulls great!
Soon to be TMCC upgraded.
I have the Williams Boston & Maine version and I love it. I don’t concern myself with Legacy, TMCC, Railsounds etc. The Williams BL-2 runs great, looks great and requires little maintenance. Here is a photo
