Blaine, WA to White Rock, BC Canada any trains on this line?

Hello,

I’m planning to visit the city of White Rock in British Columbia this summer.

Is there any rail traffic between Blaine, WA and White Rock, BC?

Thanks.

Yes- there are trains on this line. An average of 10-12 as of now,

and we keep hearing of more and more coal!!!

AmTrak also plys this route- four times a day currently.

Blaine is about 6 inches from the Canadaland border and White Rock is @ 2 miles north, if you want coal trains you will head toward Roberts Bank where the terminal is, and yes, China wants MORE coal.

Here is the worlds biggest piece of ballast. It rolled down from the rail line you see in behind.[swg]

A little further a long from White Rock is Crescent Beach, is where I took these.

These are part of the same grouping of trestles. I did not take the following two photo’s though.

There are lots of trains every day. One thing I see often is just a lashup of as many as six diesels heading North or South all on their own. The trains go about 5 MPH along the promenade at White Rock, so its easy to get good pics.
