This one-man (one woman) train and engine crew controversy reminds me that on electric lines, Swiss railroads have trusted one person to run trains…
My information came from a Scot, being educated there, jioned he said, the maqui (spelling correct for the Frencch Underground
Since I am going into the field in a year ir two after I finish school I got to say the one man crew thing is stupid to me.
Swiss Railroads are largely passenger related so of course there is only one guy in the cab with the conductor in the train. Even with that being said, they have positive train control I believe or at least in cab signaling.
" Pennsylvania State Legislative Board pledged $500 to the cause." Wow, broke the bank I guess… hope that’s a typo.
Make sure to finish school first, and brush up on grammar… and proof-reading. Just saying…
I’m as anti-union as they come but I have to say that I agree with them on this one. One man crews, except in passenger operations where there is a conductor and maybe an assistant on the train, leads me to wonder what management is thinking. Four, five and six crew members, even three, is stupid but there has to be more than one.
