BLI Bachmann decoder swap

I have a 2-8-2 sound powered non DCC BLI

Instructions say swapping any NMRA DCC decoder with make it DCC capable

I have several Bachmann DCC/DC non sound decoders from models I am converting to sound

I swapped the Bachmann into the BLI but it doesn’t run in DC mode but did in the Bachmann engines

I have not received my NCE DCC setup yet but can’t figure why it wouldn’t work in DC

Any ideas why not

Check the plug to the back of the loco? Is the decoder seated securely? Did you use the 8 pin harness? Was there disc shaped capacitors in the Bachmann locos? If you put the jumper plug back in does the loco run?

I got the Bachmann to work
Evidently despite looking like it was firmly seated and despite removing it and trying again for some reason good contact wasn’t being made --hard to believe but I tried one more time and works well
