BLI C30-7 ?

I recently purchased a BLI SD40-2 w/sound and really like it. I am looking a two C30-7s with sound. Can anyone comment on them before I plop down the money ? I am looking at models 490 &491, Norfolk Southern.

Nice, very nice, can pull 2 Athearn dummy SD40-2 and 30 cars. Great sounding especially the typical GE “chugga chugga chugga”. But look closely at the trucks, there are two different types Adirondack and GSC one has the high the other low mounted brake cylinders. I think N&W had low mounted cylinders with 2 brake shoes per wheel. My BN model had high mounted cylinders which is wrong but they were easy to remove.
Also it is missing some of the finer details found on the Atlas Gold -8’s.
But still a great engine, look around a little & you can find one for about $160.

Engineer Jeff,

As Tigerstripe mentions, the GE sound is accurate. Music to a railfan’s ears! [8D][;)]

IMHO, the horn is a very robust sounding Nathan M3. Very common 3-chimer. Used from the 1950s thru the 80s. Some still survive today.

Where have you seen them for that price? I’d love a pair myself.

Sometimes items don’t show up on their website, but if you can find an Ebay item that did not sell use the ( ask seller a question ) if he still has it they will cut you a deal usually $10-15 less than the auction start price.

Fast friendly service and no BS handling fee. I got a C30-7, & an M1a this way.

Thankyou for the ebay link I picked up a C30-7 for $170, very happy.
