I just got my BLI F7 ABB set. Wonderfully done.[:I]
However I do have a problem/question.
Of course as soon as I opened the box I set the three units up on the kitchen table for all to admire most of all while eating super.[:o)]
However my wife wouldn’t have any part of it. She said they looked great now get the stuff off the table so she could serve super.
Well the close coupling really got me, I couldn’t get the things apart. The last B unit came apart from the first B unit by just lifting up the last B unit but getting the A unit sepeated from the B unit turnded in to a real ordeal.
I finallly lifted both units off the track together and liad them flat and then tinkered with couplers until they finally came apart. Turned out to be a 10 minute job.
Now I hesitent to re couple them in fear of the same thing happening again.
Any of you folks out there have any trickes etc…to help with manual uncoupling when the units are so close together?
The problem you have is the same for my genesis F units with the buffers between the units. The buffers will not allow one of the couplers to move down wardward from the other. I normally use tmy diesels as a set and cut off the simulated air hoses off of the Kadee’s. Without the hoses, they have a sufficient amount of movement to upcouple. You could use an uncoupling ramp also, but I prefer my diesel units to not have the hoses on the couplers, preventing an accidental uncoupling over a ramp.
