GREAT !
Nice color scheme,
looks impressive
no one else cares?
I hope I’m happy by then, also… I had a BLI E-7A (G.N.) on order since early December, along with a BLI Mikado 2-8-2 (G.N.). I was greatly relieved yesterday when the hobby shop called and said my Mikado was in. It runs great, and the sound is terrific. Oh yeah, and it is “b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l” !
Have you heard any thing concerning the speed controller that does not get shipped with the present BLI models… is that an “add-on” following the litigation “shoot-out” with MTH ? My MIKE seems to run great, and I have already programmed my speed and braking… I can’t see any problems so far concerning the “non-shipped” controller.
Your CNW unit is one good lookin’ machine… hope our E-7A’s come soon.

Iron Goat

Yeah, I ordered a BLI 2-8-2 in August, for October delivery.
After half a dozen schedule slippages, the website now says it will be shipped in May.
I’ll believe it when I see it. I can imagine the level of incompetence required to slip a schedule this many times, by this amount.
I hope to get a BLI E7 A&B in UP scheme. Looks awesome, can’t wait!!!
I wanted to get a BLI SD40-2 but I never got the money. Looks like I’m the only one who only has mostly Athearns.[:(][:(][:(][:(][:(][:(][:(]
dougal you are not alone all my are Athearns also.
Most of my fleet are Athearns also! Install slow gearing, remove the clip and rewire and they are good to compete with many new high dollar engines.
I dont have much money either, took me 5 months to pay for that BLI I got. Now I am eyeing the mightest of the mighty, a 2-8-8-2 from LL P2k or another manufacter. I hear rumors of a possible release on December of a Y class with DCC and Sound.
Keep the Athearn Locos, they are great. I have a cow and calf and several others and they are “Growlers” but they will get the trains where they need to go without any problems at all. Not like a possible snafu or a fubar with one of these highbread computerized electronic superdoohickey that requires a IT team to run. =)
Make a look across the atlantic and you will become a shock!
NO JOKE: BLI IS CHEAP !!!
Märklin is the “SUPERSTAR” in expensive locomotives! An German electro type 120 will cost 249 Euro - 15 years ago, I buyed one of this engines, okay not with DCC but in the rest absolute the same: 149 DM or 75 Euro
249 instead of 75 - Hey they are crazy ! But we in Germany say that the Märklinists buy every model !
Sometimes I think it´s true.
I buyed an Athearn CF7 a few weeks ago - better in details then the Märklin 120!
I am an extatic supporter of the BLI/QSI products. I have a pair of E-7’s heading up my 1947 Great Northern Empire Builder and they are GRRREEAAATTTT!!! As Tony the Tiger says. When they say 24" min radius, take that with a grain of salt, because you have to have perfect trackwork at that small a radius. On a friend’s layout they tripped over every little kink, the lead wheel of the rear truck on the lead unit would not go over it, maybe a guage problem we will check it out. On my minimum 48" r with easements the flowing train is a thing of beauty and I have one 45 degree curve of 72" r with easements and just a suggestion of superelevation. Life is good! johncolley
