Block detection and signal control

Please. How I can use several signal (red and green light or arms), to be operated by block detection devices.How to wired it (One diagram please).I have a DCC Bachmann EZ command.Someone told me that this device do not support this kind of control.Exist another way to control ?Thank you

How do you want to use the signals? Are you going to actually control the blocks in some way, or are they just “decorative” signals? If you simply want signals with lights that change in some systematic way, you can use simple detectors to switch from green to red for a while, similar to turning on and off a set of crossing lights.

Or, you can connect them to a turnout (or a relay) if you would like to use them as turnout position indicators, typically green for the main line and red for a siding, etc.

For a more complete block wiring system, look at Circuitron and similar manufacturers.

There are as many ways to do that as there are brands and models of automobiles. It would probably be best to determine what block detection system to use. I use the current draw based ones. These detect anything that is passing electricity between the two rails like a locomotive or lighted caboose. There are also infrared, magnetic reed switches, various visible optical, not to mention the DCC feedback.

How they are wired is totally dependent on the system chosen.

That narrows the field a bit. I recently purchased a Digitrax signal unit (SE8C) to use for signaling on my Lenz based DCC system. It works with various detection devices.

Unless there is some more information that I don’t understand here, I would say they were wrong. There are many vendors that make block detection for DCC.

With DCC one could send all the detection information back to a compter and have the computer control the signals.
