Hello crew,
I’m curious about these block signals from Amazon. (link is highlighted below in blue) Never heard of Evemodel. Anyone own a set or seen them in action? I’m looking for some basic signaling for my shelf layout.
Evemodel Block Signals
While I know nothing about the block signals, I have ordered LED lights for my models from Evemodel. They were good products and were always delivered quickly.
I have no qualms about the company, but I don’t know anything about the specific items you want.
Let us know how it goes!
Certainly nothing wrong with the price. Do they make a red/yellow/green signal?
Regards, Chris
I bought a bunch of unassembled signal signal heads and LEDS from them years ago, but have not started building my signal bridges with them yet.
I have tested them and tinkered with them a bit, and I did also get just a couple complete signals.
Stuff is fine.

I’ve bought signals from Evemodel. They are OK and work well although the plastic is a bit thick and the design simple.
So I bought the 50+ signals I needed for my layout from wehonest on Ebay. They are great values with the more expensive ones made of metal, not plastic. Not as fine as Atlas or NJ International, but a much better value. Highly recommended and the company is great to work with. They even made some custom ones with a different height per my specs. Here is an ebay link to one model that I bought. Look at their store as they have many different designs! (I am just a satisfied customer!)
Welcome to the forum, Drumlin-Depot!
I have purchased individual LED and such from Evemodel with good results. When it comes to signals I have recently turned to 'Wehonest; eBay seller. In my experience these are an excellent value. Browse here:
This is the most recent signal bridge I made using a combination of wehonest masts with three-color leds in each ‘arm’ or head as some say mounted to a three-track signal bridge from Oregon Railway Supply:

Yes, the masts are just a bit tall for signal bridge mounting but I can overlook that, plus I HAVE seen a few examples on curves where the masts were tall like this.

I have not purchased any signal ‘electronics’ from any of the ebay sellers. I use Logic Rail ‘Signal Animator’ boards and for MY use they are perfect. Since I’m only controlling one signal per mast I have removed the unnecessary wiring (consolidated it to 6 wires per mast).

+1 on the Logic Rail signal animators (SA-1). Easy to understand and install, plus I like that they use photocells instead of IR so there is only one hole in the track and no alignment issues like IR sensors sometimes exhibit. Been very happy with Tomar signals over the years. But have to admit the prices from wehonest are tempting.
Regards, Chris
I considered the Logic Rail signal animators years ago but went a different route. I have a detection based conventional signal system, but it only models absolute/interlocking signals and skips some aspects, making it much easier to build.
It is fully integrated into my advanced cab control and my turnout control logic.

I know Evemodel makes quality grass mats at a nice price. I wouldn’t be surprised if their other products were solid.
I believe they are a Chinese company, but they must have products in a U.S. warehouse because orders are received fairly quickly.
That does look pretty good. I want to add a modern cantilever signal bridge, but I can’t bring myself to pay $100 each for the nice ones. I’ll probably 3D print something and part out some wehonest or evermodel for lamps.
Be sure you buy the correct scale. Both WeHonest and Evemodel have some items listed as OO/HO. So for HO you may be getting an oversized model.
You shouldn’t have to ‘part-out’ the signal heads. I’m pretty sure Wehonest sells the tri-color LED arrays separately. I’ve used quite a few of them assembled into BLMA or Oregon signal heads.

I have about 50/50 with the photocell or IR detectors. I often run at night so the IR detection works well but the LEDs do ‘stand out’ more than the photocell does.

I bought some Wehonest traffic signals, which are OO. On close examination they are a bit large, but once installed I think they will be fine.
Regards, Chris
HO is 1:87 scale. OO is 1:76. But as long as you are happy with what you have.
Both Evemodels and WeHonest signals look nice in the pictures.

CNR378, truth be told we didn’t notice they were OO when we ordered them. Not until they arrived.
We jury-rigged one to see how it would look (won’t undertake the project until next fall) but hanging over the street and between buildings it didn’t look objectionable to us.

I was thinking of some wehonest ones I already have laying around, but that’s true, I hadn’t noticed those. Thanks!
Hey Gentlemen,
Thank you very much for the helpful replies and info! I’ll definitely be checking out “We Honest” as well as Evemodel for the signals.
