I’m pretty sure that storm light is my favorite kind of light. Blue hour isn’t far behind, though:
C&C always welcome!

Chris, I’m a rank amateur here. What’s “blue hour”, exactly, and where does it fall in relation to “sweet light”?
Nice composition, nice subject, and good timing!
It must be pretty much the total opposite of “happy hour,” wouldn’t you think?
Nice shot. I love storm light, but if I’m working, I much rather have blue light. Also lets me know the night shift will soon be ending.
Thanks for the comments, guys! Carl, blue hour is the hour before sunrise and the hour after sunset when the sky takes on that deep, dark, royal blue color. It’s a great time for night photography because tones from the sky usually match manmade lighting very closely. It gives a nice balanced feel to photos. I don’t think I’ve used Blue Hour for silhouettes very often, but I rather like the effect. I may have to pursue this some more.
Thanks again!
Chris - blue has always been my favorite color! Now, did ya run around and look at the signal aspect?
Alas! it was dark, or I probably would have tried to get that in the shot as well. I’ve noticed a big downturn in the number of Beer Trains I’ve seen lately. I think I heard it has something to do with the Miller/Coors merger. Anyone have any details on that?
