BN LOVE IT OR HATE IT?

have a nice day everybody

If you know people are going to be upset, DONT SAY IT THEN! Save us a lot of useless ***ing.

Alec

Is this true? I could have sworn I heard or read somewhere the BN aquired the Santa Fe!

Hopefully this one will be put to bed early.

I like the BNSF. I don’t agree with everything they do, but it seems to me that the company has its act together. Except for NS, I know of no better run RR among the big six.

My favorite railroad growing up was the BN and I had alot of fond memories watching the BN trains go from Pasco to Vancouver and so forth and I really liked the BN logo, I was dissapointed when I found out that the BN and the ATSF became were now BNSF, although I do have respect for BNSF, I still wi***hat they are 2 different railroad companies.

The Bn did acquire the santa fe

I liked BN, it took Frisco, but I still liked it.

As a fan or as a former railroader, engineer, and business person? As a fan, one of my favourite roads was the ATSF, and I’m sorry to see its colour and flair go. But I still like the BNSF anyway – some really great scenery, and good action.

In the latter set of hats, what’s not to like? The do a very good job as a railroad, they employ good people, they operate a good business. I like 'em!

I miss Cascade Green and Tiger Stripes! Of course, being an Aurora native, I would’ve like to have seen the CB&Q, too. Oh well, live for today I suppose. Long live the Swoosh…er…well…no…I guess not…long live Armour Yellow! OK…I’m good with that! [:P]

Burlington Northern was the surviving corporation in the BNSF merger, but the active management at the top levels was primarily from ATSF. This may be the source of confusion.

I just it when people call the new logo…Swoosh[V].
Allan.

That particular graphic device looks more like a “splinter” to me, or maybe a wedge…

Well, I can’t say I’m crazy about it…But I have nothing against it.

[#ditto] with scott, i hust dont like green

Ummmmm CN! Cn is doing better then BNSF you know.
[yeah]
06archerd, then why do you say BN sucks, if you say you just dont liek green?[?]

Alec[^][B)]

Hows this for green [:p][^][xx(]!

I always thought that Santa Fe bought BN.Now I learned on the Classic Trains site it was the BN that bought Santa Fe. We are never too old to learn[:)].
I always liked the BN Tiger Stripe scheme.I did’nt think too much of the Whiteface scheme. This scheme sucks on high nose units[xx(]!
BN was about 5 or 6 on my list of favorite railroads. I was sorry to see it go[:(].

i personally like BN i thought it was a very well run railroad. I’m not a big fan or any thing
But i did enjoy it.

oh yes, Burlington Northern. i loved this company. i always assumed they merged with Santa Fe to save themselves from being bought out by the power-hungry Union Pacific. now that the merged company is bigger, they cant be bought out by the UP. but i liked BN because they were unique in locomotive colors. no other locomotive color sceme i have ever seen included green. i’ve stood only 2 feet away from one of these locomotives as it went past me at a somewhat high speed (Alma, Wisconsin. borders the Mississippi river. an average of 51 trains passes by the area every day). i miss them. but sometimes i see a BN locomotive on one of the trains there. but for the most part, it’s all BNSF locomotives.

I have always enjoyed the BN and the affiliated roads. In chicago, the BN’S racetrack main between chicago and aurora was a great place to watch trains…never a dull moment!
