Why did this SD40 looking loco have SD45 radiators and all the snow deflection stuff?
The BN 6330 (not 6300) was equipped with a CAT 3612 prime mover that generated
4200 HP. The original radiator system didn’t have the capacity to cool the higher
horsepower engine so an SD45 hood and radiator assembly was substituted.
The other details stem from the loco having two side-by-side exhausts-therefore
getting a different rooftop arrangement.
do you a pic of this unit?? kid like to see what it looks like. do i see a modelling project coming up??
