I am sure Berkshire-Hathaway will benefit from these capital investments in due time. What a far cry from the various hedge funds as well as the other clamoring stockholders that demand ever higher dividends at the expense of re-investing in the physical plant and rolling stock.
I wonder if the BNSF will ever consider stringing overhead for the energy source of their motive power on the heavily trafficed lines?
Hopefully the railrod will spend some money on the La Junta Sub. It will require upgrading to bring the speed limit up to 79 mph for passenger service. The Way Yard at Hutchinson, KS. ( former Santa Fe ) has an abundance of tracks out service that need to be repaired so it can efficiently serve the LP Gas & grain business that is done here.
Will the delay-plagued California Zephyr benefit from this? I sure hope so.
